Bart Arnold began making jewelry as a graduate student of Fine Art at NYU. It was there that he recognized jewelry making as a form of sculpture; the creation of three-dimensional objects that occupy space and define the space around them, demanding that they be viewed from various angles. The fact that the human form is the specific site for these objects makes the creative process all the more beguiling. As a painter, sculptor, and jewelry maker, his aesthetic is rooted in purity of form. He strives to create art objects that are honed to their minimal essence, both organic and geometric. In designing jewelry, his goal is to make sculptural forms that gracefully complement the beauty of the human form to look and feel comfortable, stylish, and timeless. Each of his pieces is meticulously handmade by him in his studio in the Berkshire Hills of Western Massachusetts. Arnold’s jewelry has been sold in fine stores and galleries across the United States including Henri Bendel and Saks Fifth Avenue.
