This work is one in Julio Granda’s “Line Painting” series which he considers derivative of some of his own work from the 1970’s. These vertical landscapes were comprised of a large installation of painted poles on his Washington, MA property. Mr. Granda continued to explore this theme for much of the decade following (with the Line Paintings) and continues to use the vertical format to yet a completely different effect today.
