"Sweet Berkshire Summer" at Childs + Clark Gallery

In conversation with painters Joel Haynes and Sarah Horne, the color and light filled works of Mariel Bass, Sidney Hutter and Aron Leaman grace the opening of “Sweet Berkshire Summer” at the Childs & Clark Gallery. Saturday, August 10 from 5-7pm.

Mariel Bass’ luminescent floral sculptures and glass creatures inspire and delight.  Bass, a graduate of Mass College of Art, has a long practice of glass making, running studios on St. John, BVI, and in St. Petersburg FL. She has worked with many of the luminaries of the contemporary studio Glass Movement, and currently blows glass at the MIT Glass Lab in Cambridge, MA.

Sidney Hutter uses the play of color and light in  positive and negative space to intrigue the viewers of his plate glass sculptures. Hutter received degrees from the University of Illinois and Mass College of Art, with work in collections of the White House, the Smithsonian, and many private and public collections.
